Dr. Jessica Chandler

Associate Veterinarian

Before devoting herself to veterinary medicine, Dr. Jessica Chandler studied violin at the Julliard School of Music in Manhattan. During her coursework, she started volunteering at the local ASPCA to satisfy her other lifelong passion: animals. It didn’t take long for Dr. Chandler to come to a decision. A career in veterinary medicine was the future that she wanted for herself!

Dr. Chandler grew up in North Bellmore, Long Island, New York with her parents and sister. She started her animal-care journey by volunteering as an assistant at the ASPCA, then enrolled in Columbia University’s pre-med program to complete her prerequisite coursework for veterinary school. Dr. Chandler also volunteered at various Long Island veterinary clinics and a wildlife rehabilitation facility during this time.

Dr. Chandler was accepted into her dream school, Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, to complete her Doctorate. She joined the team here at Animal Medical Hospital and at the Animal Medical Hospital after graduation, and is thrilled to now work in the clinic that her family has taken their own pets to for many years.

As a veterinarian, Dr. Chandler enjoys internal medicine, pain management, and nutrition. She’s also partial to feline medicine and enjoys navigating the unique intricacies of cats.

In her time away from work, Dr. Chandler is still an avid violinist and even teaches students ranging in age from seven to 15 one day a week. She also likes singing, attending Broadway musicals, reading, cooking and trying out new recipes, and spending time with her own pets at home. Dr. Chandler has three loveable cats: Sheba, a grey tabby; an orange tabby named Peaches; and Patches, Peaches’ sibling.

  • What a thorough, caring, and knowledgeable staff! I felt like Scarlett (my cat) got compassionate and focused care. My neighbor raved about Dr. Wyler and now I know why...but the entire staff displayed over the top attentiveness! Go there, everyone!
  • I have been going to Animal Medical Hospital for many, many years, and have had several pets treated by Dr. Douglas Wyler. He has always given them the best of care, and keeps me informed about what is going on with them. He and all the staff are just wonderful - Lisa, especially, has been so helpful! I would heartily recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and knowledgeable veterinarian!
  • We have been going to Whitestone Vet Care for over 10 years now. Our dog Twister is now 11 years old and due to the wonderful care she has received from Dr.Wyler and his staff over the years, she is as healthy and happy as a spring chicken.
  • This is my 1st dog and I just love this place. They are willing to answer all my questions and concerns. I never have to wait long and everyone is so loving and caring. I feel confident my Dog Max is being care for well.
  • Very satisfied with the care my cat, Sunkiss received. The technicians, veterinarian, and staff, were very professional, friendly, and concerned about her problem. Used them for my other tabby, Tiger; who had a grocery list of problems; but lived a comfortable life to the age of 16.5 years.
