Medical Director
Fear Free Certified Practitioner
Born in Nassau County and raised in Westchester County, Dr. Lauren Jordon is no stranger to NY. She has always been interested in general practice veterinary medicine and enjoys working with clients and their pets. Dr. Jordon is honored to be a part of the health and well-being of each furry member of the family. Over the course of a pet’s lifetime, she enjoys the relationship and bond that she cultivates with each family member. Dr. Jordon loves coming to work each day, meeting new people and educating clients on wellness and medical conditions for their pets.
As a child growing up, she had an English Springer Spaniel named Carnation. From her very first veterinary visit, she was hooked on becoming a veterinarian. When she told her grandfather about this career path, he took her to Ithaca, NY, to tour Cornell Veterinary School when she was in second grade. When she returned home from that trip, she wrote a letter to the Dean of Cornell’s Veterinary School asking what she should do as a second grade student to be admitted to veterinary school when she was old enough!
After high school, Dr. Jordon attended Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and majored in biology and animal science. She stayed in Ithaca, NY, for four additional years to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating veterinary school, Dr. Jordon completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls, NJ. Prior to joining the team at Animal Medical Hospital, she practiced veterinary medicine at private hospitals in NJ and NY for two years.
Dr. Jordon enjoy working with clients and their pets when preparing for travel. She ensures that the client and pet is supported at each stage of the pre-travel timeline and that all of the necessary testing and paperwork is completed appropriately in time for the trip. She especially likes talking to clients about how to best prepare their pet for travel and to make sure that everyone gets to their final destination safely and as stress-free as possible! Dr. Jordon and her husband, Tom, are excited about being a part of the Long Island community. When they have free time, they can be found exploring the beaches and great restaurants in the area. They are avid sports fans and enjoy rooting for the NY Mets and NY Islanders.
Dr. Jordon is excited to be a part of our team and is thankful to all of the veterinarians that have encouraged her and shaped her in becoming the veterinarian that she is today.
